A 28-amino-acid thymic peptide that enhances T-cell maturation, NK cell activity, and innate immune responses.
The N-terminal 28 amino acids of prothymosin-alpha, produced naturally by thymic epithelial cells. Activates TLR9 and TLR2 on dendritic cells, matures dendritic cells to drive T-helper cell differentiation, enhances NK cell cytotoxicity, and upregulates MHC class I/II expression. Activates both innate and adaptive immunity.
Thymosin Alpha-1 (Zadaxin) is approved in over 35 countries for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and certain cancers including melanoma and lung cancer. It is one of the best-characterised thymic peptides with a large clinical literature.
Used extensively in COVID-19 research and as an immune restorative agent. Off-label use spans immune optimisation, recurrent infections, vaccine response enhancement, and Lyme disease.
