The most potent synthetic GHRP, with additional cardiac-protective and anti-fibrotic properties.
Potent ghrelin receptor agonist producing the largest GH pulses of any synthetic GHRP. Also uniquely binds CD36 scavenger receptor on cardiac tissue, demonstrating cardioprotective, anti-fibrotic, and angiogenic effects independent of GH. This dual mechanism makes it distinct from other GHRPs.
Hexarelin is consistently the most potent GHRP in head-to-head GH secretion comparisons. However, more rapid desensitisation than GHRP-2 or Ipamorelin limits continuous use protocols.
The cardiac effects of hexarelin through CD36 are mechanistically independent of GH release — a unique property among GHRPs that has sparked cardiovascular research interest separate from growth hormone applications.
